The Haitian Gallery of Montreal opens its last exhibit of the year with solely of artwork by Black Alex, the popular Haitian artist who now focuses on painting rather music. Alex travelled to Montreal to attend the exhibit that was heavily promoted, presenting him as a versatile, multi-faceted artist. The exhibit runs through November 30th. Unlike most exhibits where artwork is matted, framed then hung precisely on the gallery wall, this exhibit boasts artwork in the raw, acrylic paintings on canvas, board, and paper taken straight out of the artist’s house to hang “en masse” for the exhibit. Viewers will be surrounded by rich colors, bold strokes, flowing curves and rhythmic patterns blended together in vibrant abstract impressions, and graceful figures. The exhibit coincides with the release of Black Alex new album at the Haitian music fair “Musique en Folie”
