The crown is up for grabs, and desire threatens the kingdom Aphrodite’s fury is unleashed upon Haiti, the world’s greatest superpower, in this story of power and lust. That’s how the new Nicole Brooks’ theater play “FEDRA Queen of Haiti” will open at the Lookinglass in Chicago on September 30, 2009. The play is a retelling of Jean Racine’s master work that imagines what happens as the Haitian slave insurrection succeeded in changing the face of a nation in a new décor and settings.
